CHILDREN
At Knighton the most important way to serve our community is by providing a wide range of activities for children and young people. We've been running a wide range of clubs for a number of years and have gained quite a bit of experience. We've also worked hard to keep things as fresh and up to date as possible and we are constantly trying to learn more.
Protection of the children in our care is very important to us, so we have a clearly defined Child Protection Policy.
Sunday services
We have groups for children from 2-16 which run at the same time as the Sunday morning service. We have taken quite a bit of time to design a curriculum so that if children come to Knighton regularly they will have an opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ and his gospel in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. You don't need to attend church to bring your children to Sunday School, but it would be great to see you.
There's also a Nursery (0-2 years) - our nursery provides an opportunity for dads and mums to attend our Sunday morning service whilst their little ones are cared for in a happy atmosphere by competent, friendly people.
Midweek groups
Knighton Nippers Knighton Nippers is held in the upper church hall every Tuesday 10-11.30am (term time only). We welcome children from birth - 4 years, accompanied by mum,dad, grandparents or other carers.
During the first hour, children can choose to play from our large range of toys, which are appropriate to the children's ages. We also alternate painting, cutting, sticking, cooking and playdough activities. Refreshments (nut free) are available for adults and children. At 11am, we clear away the toys and gather as a big group to have a time of singing, share any news or notices and then listen to a Bible story.
Knighton Kids Club (KKC)
KKC is a club for children aged 5-8 years (school years 1-3). We meet on Wednesdays from 6.00-7.15pm in the church hall. There is a varied programme of games, cooking, crafts, themed evenings and bible stories. We aim to give the children a fun, active evening. Everyone is welcome.
Explore
This is a club for young people aged 8-11 years (school years 4-6). We meet on a Thursday from 7 - 8.15pm in the downstairs hall at Brinsmead Road. There is singing, a bible talk, games, activities and social events. All are welcome.
